From the beginning, the company combined technical expertise with a strong commitment to creating a family-oriented work environment.
Scott Whitaker began his career serving in the Army, earning certification as a Heavy Wheel Mechanic. After completing his service, he transitioned into the automobile repair industry, specializing in vehicle air conditioning systems. That experience naturally led him into residential HVAC.
In 2008, Scott earned his Class B Air Conditioning Contractor license through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. In 2019, he expanded his credentials by obtaining his Plumbing Contractor license. Scott continues to pursue additional training and licensing to strengthen the company’s expertise in both HVAC and plumbing services.
Don, also a Florida native, was a second-generation HVAC contractor. Prior to Arctic Air Services, Inc., he partnered with his father and brother in their family’s air conditioning business. In 1994, he founded his own air conditioning company and later relocated it in 2003 — where he met Scott. Don was licensed as a Certified Builder Contractor and Electrical Contractor through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
When Scott and Don founded Arctic Air Services, Inc., they specialized in HVAC installation for residential new construction. It quickly became clear there was a growing need for professional HVAC repair and maintenance services for existing homeowners. Expanding into service allowed the company to grow significantly in the years that followed.
In 2015, Scott and Don founded Arctic Air Plumbing Services, Inc. after recognizing the need for quality plumbing installation in residential construction. In 2020, Arctic Air Home Services, Inc. was established to further support the increasing demand for expert HVAC and plumbing repair and maintenance services for homeowners.
Throughout the company’s growth, Scott and Don never compromised their commitment to building a culture rooted in teamwork and family values. Today, with over 180 employees and growing, Scott continues to oversee daily operations while maintaining an open-door policy for employees. Arctic Air also partners with local businesses and organizations to support charitable initiatives within the community.
