24/7 Emergency Plumbing Response
Hidden leaks are a common problem that creates significant issues. It’s important to call for help at the earliest sign of a potential leak. Be mindful that there are serious types of leaks that can be very hard to diagnose. Many homes in our region have slab plumbing that can develop small leaks over time. You may not notice them until the water bill finally gets high enough, or you notice foundation or landscape issues. We have advanced techniques, including thermal imaging, to quickly and accurately diagnose leaks.
In older houses, frozen pipes are a more prevalent issue than many realize. While we enjoy a warmer climate, it still gets cold enough for pipes to freeze. It’s especially true for pipes that run near exterior walls and have no insulation. If a pipe freezes, it’s crucial to call us right away. Pressure will continue to build in the pipe and may eventually cause it to rupture. Once you’ve called, open up the tap to relieve pressure. Open up the under-sink cabinets as well to allow the home’s heat to circulate around the pipe.
Many of the other emergencies we deal with are water-heater-related. Older water heaters can experience problems that diminish performance or even cause an outright failure. In many cases, the repair is simple, such as replacing a bad valve or thermostat. In more extreme cases, you may have a failed heating element or heat exchanger. If a unit needs an expensive repair and lacks warranty coverage, we may recommend an emergency replacement instead.
